In order to get your marriage license to hold a wedding from the county clerk's office you must be 18 years old.
The couple must both appear in person to obtain a license
You must have a valid I.D. with the date of birth and photo must be provided (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
For Florida Residents Only there is a three (3) day waiting period from the date of the marriage license issuance. This requirement may be waived if you choose to attend a premarital class and present a certificate of attendance to the marriage clerk at the time of application.
If previously married, all that is required is the month and year of termination of the marriage.
Licenses are issued immediately and must be used within 60 days from the date of issue.
The cost for a Florida marriage license is $93.50.
There is a REDUCED FEE for Florida residents who elect the PREMARITAL class. A list of course providers can be found on the county clerk website.
Couples living in other parts of Florida can bring a license with them from their home county.

EXTRA COPIES~
Marriage license copies can be purchased in the clerk’s office for a $1.00 each. Certified copies of marriage licenses are $3.00 each. If your marriage license was recorded in Collier County, you can either come into the office to purchase one or mail your request along with a check payable to the Clerk of the Circuit Court at the address below. If requesting by mail, please include a self-addressed postage paid envelope for the return of your certified copy(s). Please note: The brides name does not legally change once you are married until you take your license to the social security office and DMV to legally change your name. So, most people get extra copies for this purpose.

OFFICIANT IS REQUIRED BY FLORIDA LAW TO RETURN THE LICENSE WITHIN 10 DAYS OF YOUR WEDDING.
**However, due to COVID, the clerk's office is now allowing clients to bring their signed license for filing. If you choose to do this, please be aware of the timelines. Please let me know if you are choosing this option.
